Advertising Policy
This policy explains how advertising works on TheLifeScienceFeed, how ad placements are selected, and our commitment to maintaining editorial independence, accuracy and ethical medical communication.
1. Overview
TheLifeScienceFeed is supported in part by advertising, including display ads delivered through third party networks such as Google AdSense. Advertising revenue enables us to maintain free, open access to medical and scientific content for healthcare professionals.
2. Editorial independence
All editorial content on TheLifeScienceFeed is produced independently. Advertisers, sponsors and commercial partners:
- have no involvement in content creation or editorial decisions,
- cannot request, shape or influence the articles we publish,
- cannot suppress or request removal of content,
- cannot review or pre-approve editorial content.
Our editorial standards remain entirely separate from advertising operations.
3. Advertising formats
Advertising may appear in the following forms:
- Google AdSense display banners,
- In-article display units,
- Sponsored links or contextual ads (clearly labelled),
- Non personalised or personalised ads depending on user consent.
We do not publish:
- pop ups that obstruct content,
- auto playing audio ads,
- misleading or deceptive advertising,
- advertisements for prescription medicines targeted at consumers.
4. How ads are selected
Ads delivered through Google AdSense are automatically selected based on:
- the topic of the page being viewed (contextual targeting),
- your consent preferences for personalised ads,
- non identifying device and browser signals.
Advertisers do not receive your name, email address or personal profile. Advertising identifiers are generated and managed by Google in accordance with your consent choices.
You can adjust ad personalisation settings at any time via:
https://www.google.com/settings/ads
5. Advertising standards
All advertisements must comply with the following:
- Google AdSense Program Policies,
- EU and US medical advertising regulations,
- ethical medical communication guidelines,
- no misleading health claims,
- no promotion of unsafe or unverified medical treatments,
- no disallowed categories (e.g., illegal drugs, hate speech, malware).
We reserve the right to block or remove any advertiser that violates these standards.
6. Separation of ads and content
Ads are clearly distinguishable from editorial content through labelling, layout and visual treatment. Editorial content is never influenced by advertising considerations.
Sponsored content (if introduced in the future) will always be labelled clearly and will not resemble editorial articles.
7. Disclaimers and disclosures
TheLifeScienceFeed is a medical education resource. Ads do not constitute endorsements by the editors or contributors. The presence of advertisements does not imply relevance, efficacy or suitability of any promoted product or service.
We do not permit ads that provide direct medical advice or promote prescription medications to general audiences.
8. Reporting concerns
If you encounter an advertisement that appears inappropriate, misleading or unsafe, you may report it to us. Include the page URL, a screenshot, and any details that help identify the ad.
